family business - flags the international centre for families in business

About Us

The Centre is committed to ensuring the most up-to-date and relevant professional support and advice is available to family businesses. Having started with the development of the UK's first MBA for Family Business our major purpose is to offer family businesses a safe place for learning and education and a place where the family and other key personnel can gain access to information, attend workshops, seek advice, and above all, meet and share information and best practice with other families in business.

The Centre also offers a range of programmes for professional advisers and intermediaries who work with family businesses - hoping to overcome the views of respondents to a recent survey where only 40% of those surveyed believed that their advisers understood the very nature of their organisation as a family business.

These programmes will give professionals working with family businesses the opportunity to learn more about the nature and the dynamics of the family business and enhance their own skills and experiences through a series of programmes designed to support their own personal development.

We have a passion about family business and take the family business seriously. Our team comprises individuals with a wealth of experience in the field, directly through their involvement in a family business and indirectly through practice as advisers, trainers and consultants to family businesses. Bringing together a team from fields as diverse as accountancy, law, marketing, finance, banking, behavioural science and management education, The International Centre for Families in Business is set to become the premier source of support and advice to the family in business.
