Advanced Family Business
Are you serious about leading the business?
Aims
The advanced family business course builds on the introductory programme and
provides more case study situations for discussion by delegates in order to:
- further understand the complexity surrounding the day-to-day running of the family
- introduce greater awareness of the people and relationship issues that can affect
the business
- develop an overall understanding of how best to address specific situations
such as management transition and succession
Structure
The two day programme will provide delegates with a greater understanding of the business
models and theories associated with family business in a practical way so that it can be
applied to their own work environments.
The programme approach is case study based with a strong emphasis on interaction and
discussion and is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team with vast experience of working
with family businesses and their advisers.
Specific topics addressed
- reflections on experiences since the introductory programme
- succession and exit planning - strategies for succession
- dealing with financial, legal and relationship issues
- selecting and developing successors
- working with family businesses
- integration of family values with business advice and development
It is recommended that prior to attending the Advanced Family Business Course consideration
is given to attending the Introductory

assumed knowledge for participants on this course.
